UGI maintains impressive placement record despite pandemic

PRAYAGRAJ: In the backdrop of the fact that because of the Covid-19 outbreak, thousands of youths have lost their jobs during the first and second waves of the pandemic, the placements of United Group of Institutions (UGI) students in top multi-national companies (MNCs) like Infosys, Accenture, TCS, WIPRO, Cognizant, Byju’s, Extramarks, Hexaware, etc continued even during this gloomy phase.

Significantly, UGI students also bagged multiple job offers from the reputed companies in selections made via virtual campus recruitment drives, which are still underway at UGI.

Head, Corporate Relations Centre (CRC), UGI, Divya Bartaria said that over 1501 job offers were bagged by the UGI students during the Covid-19 hit phase.

Significantly, of the total selections, a whopping 350 students from different streams have also been able to bag multiple job offers, and that too at good packages ranging between Rs 4-12 lakh per annum, she added.

Of the total 350 students with multiple offers, 147 were from United College of Engineering and Research (UCER) itself, over 40 were from United Institute of Technology (UIT), 40 from United College of Engineering and Management (UCEM), 69 from United Institute of Management-FUGS and 54 students represented UIM, explained the CRC head.

“Students were regularly motivated by keeping them engaged in value-added programs, training for aptitude, verbal reasoning, competitive coding, and soft skills apart from regular academics,” she added.

Expressing happiness over the achievements of UGI students, vice-president United Group Gaurav Gulati said that UGI has exemplified its uninterrupted services towards education and career-building of youth by adapting to the situations, adopting the digital learning and placement models, and henceforth overcoming all the challenges and uncertainties.
